Festival Admin

I was the Administrator of Bedlam Festival 2016 a 5 day festival based in Bedlam Theatre. We had 6 shows put together by the members of the Edinburgh University Theatre Company and 14 workshops that were a mix of student led, graduate led and industry professionals.

I also set up the inaugural First Stage with Watch This - Society for Original Theatre. First Stage was an experience designed up to welcome new people into University of Birmingham’s student drama scene, supporting their first production. We also provided guides and support to new comers.

Curation & Artistic Direction

Candlewasters is a new-writing collection, performed at Bedlam Theatre, and run by the EUTC. In the year 14-15 I was the Co-Curator (& Tech Manager). My role was to read the work submitted, provide feedback to the writers and to assign and cast the plays from our repertory actors & directors.

Candlewasters continues and in subsequent years has chosen some of my work. If you would like to know more, do read this journal post.

I was also the EUTC’s Librarian (14 - 16) and was responsible for managing Bedlam Theatre’s book collection; I had to select and curate the collection so that it continued to be a useful and helpful resource for members.

Producing

I also co-produced RVSP a piece of comedic new writing, that was performed at the Guild of Students, University of Birmingham.
